The management of a Santa Cruz PRT system will need to be performed in very close cooperation with the Santa Cruz Metropolitan Transit District (SCMTD).

In order for the PRT system to meet its ridership goals, intersecting east-west Transit District routes must be on frequent headways and have stops in close proximity to the PRT stations. This is a critical component in the plan to remove significant numbers of single occupant automobiles from Santa Cruz roadways.

As a result of these critical needs, it may be most desirable to have SCMTD operate the PRT system or, work very closely in concert with what ever other agency DOES operate the PRT system.
